Program Overview:  True North Radio targets a center-right audience by providing our listeners with locally focused, politically oriented commentary grounded in fiscal responsibility and social sensibility. 

Within this context, we make a special effort to reach out to Vermont’s outdoors community with dedicated programming on every Monday in partnership with Outdoors and Livin’ the Vermont Way magazines. Vermont’s traditional environmental heritage, both recreational and economic, is a common, recurring theme throughout the week.

The Host: Before taking over behind the True North microphone, Rob Roper, served for three years as chairman of the Vermont Republican Party (January 2007 to November 2009). Rob has also served as the Media Relations Officer for a U.S. Senate Campaign (Jack McMullen, 2003-2004), Executive Director for two grassroots advocacy organizations (FreedomWorks Vermont and Vermonters for Better Education 2005-2007), and as a registered lobbyist in the Vermont State House. Rob Roper has extensive experience in advertising, working as an award-winning copywriter for Young & Rubicam New York (1993-1998), and doing considerable freelance advertising and marketing since moving to Vermont in 1998. 

Population areas reached include the counties of Chittenden, Grand Isle, Addison, Lamoille, Washington, Orange, Franklin, Orleans, and Caledonia counties.  The WDEV signal also reaches parts of western New Hampshire.  The Bloomberg signal reaches all of the Champlain Valley including Burlington, St. Albans, and Plattsburg, NY.
